Animal Totem Metaphor

Before the Unearth Your Team event happens, each participants does a simple, yet powerful exercise to unearth their animal totem.

Why do we do this?
For millennia, totems have been used as a powerful metaphor for understanding personal strengths and characteristics.

Our guided visualisation helps participants ‘discover’ their animal totem. It’s a powerful tool to access hidden information about who their strengths and natural abilities.

Instead of having to answer 80+ questions, and being ‘allocated’ one of 16 personality types, they listen to a 14-minute recording, answer 12 questions. We send each participant a personalised Insights Report, providing a full analysis of their strengths, natural way of working, how they can best address challenges, and so on.

We then run a ‘Playshop’

What Happens in the Playshop?

Pre-Play
Participants ‘discover’ their totem prior to the event by completing our unique business meditation exercise.

Opening Visualisation
We start with a mindfulness recording designed to relax and unite the group

Who’s Who in the Zoo?
The event starts with a game: everyone tries to successfully match the person with their animal

Group Exercises
Pairing up, participants work with different partners to:
- Discover each other’s strengths
- Learn how to support each other better
- Create personal "come to me when…" statements, highlighting everyone's unique contributions

At the end of the event your team will have:
